Exit one dimension, enter the next. It was chaos: pressure against your ears, light bending in an impossible, unimaginable way. The very molecules of your body vibrating against one another. If you have windows, the view outside makes no sense. Even if not, your hands, your face, your feet seem like an uncertain thing. It's the feel of reality itself tearing apart, reshaping, reconnecting, thread by thread.

And suddenly, there's a beach— or ocean, whichever you land in. Smoke. Fire. Salt water churning up, fizzing around, almost at odds with the layer of thick snow over everything.


Maybe you crash, in a ship wrecking into sand. Maybe you merely stumble out of a portal, a ragged wormhole in space. Or maybe you fall off the back of an incredible steed, some creature that carried you into this place. Either way, there's pandemonium around you. Incredibly, severe injuries are far and few between— nobody's screaming about the dead. But you might have to help pull someone free of wreckage, or move quickly to salvage burning belongings from the landing craft. Maybe it's the crafts themselves, that you're trying to salvage.

Likely, you don't know them, these other strangers who arrived here^[1]. Maybe you don't trust them— you just came out of a dying world, after all. But you all have one thing in common: you're here now.

When you get a second to breathe, maybe you'll see it. The snowy forest across the sand. Beyond that, the glint of a faraway city.

Dinner with a Succubus (NSFW)

Your first dinner party in Xistentia^[2] is a sumptuous and luxurious dinner that takes place at the private residence of one of the natives.

As you step in, the first thing you notice is the scent of indigenous flowers mingled with the floating traces of savory and sweet from the elaborate buffet set up on the side. Treats from around the Multiverse.



However, sectioned off from these public areas, there are spaces reserved for sexual activity. It's not so surprising, when you remember that the lights outisde, the power behind the city itself, runs off human emotional interaction— and desire is a powerful emotion indeed. These rooms feature every conceivable surface you might want to tangle on, from silk to lacquered desks, to rubber.

Chests hold sundry toys and other equipment. Rooms have beds sized comfortably from anywhere from one to five people, and there are peepholes. Everything is marked with painted symbols in a language that is known to no one person, but somehow universally comprehensible.

NETWORK

Xistentia now has its own 'friending app.' You can use it to make connections with new people! But beware, your daemon may well post without your permission, and things could get pretty embarrassing.

[ Interesting, he didn't recognize the scent that emanated from this one. He could blame the perfumes of the room, but he suspected that he'd be able to tell if he was a vampire even through those. As such, he didn't believe he was one- but he wasn't a human so that was many points in his favor. ]

[ Loki's green eyes gleam in the light. If he knows what Ignacio is, he doesn't show it in any way. ]

That depends on how well you polish them up.

That depends on whether you have vampiric blood or not, which... I do not believe you have? In which case it will be polished with some tarnish at the edges.

[ There was a playful smirk tugging at the corner of his lips now. ]

Loki. Are you enjoying yourself at this party? It seems to have a heavy emphasis on food I do not eat and sex with strangers which I would not have.

I was recently on a planet that subscribed to such vices, so I am merely seeing how well they succeed.

I would think Gods are a step up from vampires, at the very least.

[ Ignacio's smirk widened as his eyebrow lifted. Was he joking? Probably. ]

A planet? I consider myself one who is well traveled, but it sounds to me that you are far beyond what I have ever considered. A place such as this must bore you?

[ Loki's look is flat. He has his own superior bias, after all. ]

I do not know, I have not even been here a full day yet.

I suspect you have been here far longer.

[ Ignacio was of the belief that Loki couldn't be so superior if he was stuck in this boring little place, but he omitted saying that. As such, he just look amused. ]

A few months is hardly worth noting.

[ It is still a blink of an eye for Loki. ]

I stay because it is a defensible location from the threats outside.

[ Only a few months? Ignacio had suspected longer, but he didn't mind being wrong. ]

I believe I fought real enemies not long ago. Whether I believe the rest is my own purview.

[ Loki's attitude reminded him much of his own, but at this current moment he remains personable. ]

[ Allies, huh? Loki doesn't believe that for a second and he's quite sure Ignacio doesn't either. ]

I'm not so wholesome that I care for the continued livelihoods of the people here. I take care of myself. I expect everyone else to do the same.

Divide and conquer, then? I can respect that.

[ In fact, he thought that was a very good thing. With a slight smile and a nod. ]

Is there anything you would tell a newcomer, then?

[ His smile is sharp. ]

What would you like to know?

[sadico]

Anything that you are willing to give. From defenses to the best fighters and so on... But perhaps you would not know such things because you are a loner. I should speak with someone who is more of a leader? Perhaps you know who that is?

[dothelokimotion]

There were a few I knew of, but I do not think they reside here any longer.

[ Tony could qualify, but Loki would never recommend him. He frowns openly, thinking about it. A lack of knowledge is inexcusable. ]

[ 'What fools', he thought to himself. ]

Enough of that, how dull. What do you do for amusement, Loki?

I wish to know because I am attempting to find your weaknesses so I can destroy you.

[ He doesn't smile, his look unwavering, it was almost as though he was completely serious. ]

For example, if you tell me you enjoy playing catch with a ball I can then plot to fill the ball with explosives.

[ Okay, that makes him chuckle. ]

Very well. I enjoy knowledgeable pursuits and knifeplay.

[ He smirks, pleased with that result. ]

I enjoy both of those as well. I cannot plant a bomb in a knife or a book, unless it was a very little bomb, so I suppose you are safe from my plotting.

Is that why you are at this party, to gain knowledge?

[ Grimacing slightly, he takes a sip of his drink. ]

I am at this party because my brother made a case for loosening up. And I am trying to see whether this will work.

[ Loki does enjoy parties but he vacillates between enjoying himself and plotting people's demise. ]

Your brother thought that a sex party would loosen you up.
