MAJOR BULLETIN: Character Applications and New Event

This month, we're going to be making major changes to our Application process, simplifying the form, and changing to rolling applications. TDMs will continue to occur monthly, but you can apply 1x every month. Additionally, we will also be doing a rainstorm and memory share event.

Application Changes

As noted above, character applications are going to get simpler. The main change to the form itself will be that the questions about game-specific adjustments (e.g., Community Contributions, War Attitudes) will be removed. This is in part because we're switching to rolling applications, therefore streamlining the system will help us turn them around faster even if someone applies at an unexpected time.

The new schedule means applications will always be open. Foreseeable delays will be announced on the app page. Each player is limited to one (1) new application each calendar month, but the app can be submitted at any time. Test Drive Memes will change to the last Saturday of each month. This new rolling schedule will kick in on September 30, 2017.

Event: Rainstorm and Memory Share

Rain is coming to Xistentia. At first it'll be a light, gauzy drizzle, but the rain will worsen to a downpour. The precipitation will drive some to seek shelter and others to venture out in the spirit of renewal, or possibly melodrama.

Phenomenon Type: Weather
Predicted Duration: 72 hours

As part of the "natural" climate of the region, rain is expected to fall for 7 days, starting with a light drizzle and escalating to a downpour. Residents are encouraged to support each other against agricultural difficulties, tracking mud inside the house, accidentally wearing thin white fabrics, conversations with melancholy ambience, and cabin fever.

If rainwater collection is adequate, Temple functions will be activated.

Spoiler: rainwater collection will be adequate.

There are reservoirs at the Temple which gather the rainwater. At this time, Era and Ezekiel's prophetic dreams (won at the recent fair) will come to full fruition, as the Temple calls for a surge of Memory Share participation in order to accumulate more energy. There's a rumble of D.E.S.T.I.N.Y. on the way and the firewall needs fortifying.

New Icebreaker

This month's icebreaker will be a glitch, which means it may optionally be posted without the characters' permission. The theme itself is Travel AMA. In order you play this one, your character or their daemon will post information about places they've traveled before (e.g., anything from their hometown candy store to other planets) and why.

These are not necessarily 100% accurate.

We'll be advertising Xistentia on enable_me_plz again! All submissions on the last ETP will be included, but if you'd like to update or add, please head down to the comments to fill out the form. The purpose is to invite new players and characters to your canon.

Reminders

1. Test Drive meme will open on September 30, 2017 @ 3:00PM PST, 6:00PM EST, or 10:00PM GMT! The Enable Me Plz ad will also be posted then, using information from our last announcement as well as this one.
