Mod Update: Changes to Activity Check

Following the recent activity Check-In, we have for the first time had a couple of players who were unable to make AC. As we have not had any formal process for dealing with this to date, the Mods discussed each player's circumstance with them. Those who wished to drop from the game will now be swept from it. Those who wished to stay have taken an activity Strike.

What this has shown us is that we need to have a more formal process around how Check-In is managed in the future. Here is how it's going to work!

Activity Requirements

Players are expected to meet the minimum standard of activity for each character they play. An activity period in Xistentia lasts for two months – from the end of one Check-In to the end of the next. For example, the next Check-In will cover the period from 8 March – 7 May. This is so that tags posted during Check-In week can still count for activity during that period.

At each Check-In post you will need to provide:

• A short summary of your character's actions during the last activity period;
  
  
• A link to a thread with at least 3 comments from your character during the activity period.

Threads can come from a game Inbox, a game Synchr, a Test Drive thread which has become game canon, or a post in Xistentia itself.

Activity Check-In

Check-In will generally be posted every two months, in March, May, July, September and November. There will be no Check-In during January due to the holiday season. Check-In will be posted on the 1st of the month. It will last for a full week, closing at midnight on the 8th of the month (PST).

Players must respond to the post in one of the following ways:

1. Providing full activity.
2. Indicating you are exempt because (1) you have been on hiatus for at least one month during the AC period, or (2) your character was accepted within the last month.
3. Requesting a Strike.

All players must respond to the post unless they are on hiatus when it is posted.

If you know you are going to be on hiatus, please PM the Mod account to let us know. If you have not also been on hiatus for at least 1 month during the activity period, you will still need to either provide activity, or request a Strike when you contact us.

If you do not respond to the post, and you have not contacted the Mods to let us know, you will be automatically swept from the game once Check-In has closed.

NOTE: If you have any exceptional circumstance which has prevented you from making activity, please PM the Mod account to discuss.

STRIKES - HOW DO THEY WORK?

If you request a Strike, you must provide full activity at the next Check-In. If you fail to do so you will be swept from the game. If you need to be on hiatus during the next AC period, this is fine! You will be able to be exempt from the next Check-In, but your Strike will remain and you will need to provide full activity at the following Check-In before it will be cleared.

It is up to you as the player to tell us that you do not have activity and need to take a Strike. You must do so via response to the Check-In post. If you do not respond to the Check-In post at all, we will sweep you from the game and you will need to re-apply to Xistentia if you still wish to play.

If you are swept, you will be able to apply for the same character again right away. However, if you idle out multiple times, the Mods may contact you to discuss activity before considering any new applications.
