[ because of course she's already nearby the diner. it's a comfort thing, probably, in this new ( kind of crazy?? ) city. she's still not 100% sure what's going on, why she's here, how she's here, what the whole situation is- but Veronica would never admit to it. well, not to anyone but Betty. she's beyond grateful that her friend is here - if she were the type to get easily misty-eyed she probably would be just from the relief. but instead she's just got a happy bounce to her step, smile confident as she enters the diner and requests to be seated at the same booth they always sit.
although it's technically not their booth. not really their booth. it just looks like it. but that's fine, they'll make this one their new usual. she's choosing to remain optimistic, which has been pretty easy since the alternative is sitting in her new room trying to figure out how the hell she's supposed to survive this place without her friends.
luckily, her best, very best friend, is here. thank god.
she's on the edge of her seat, right up until she sees the familiar blonde step into the diner and turn her way, then she's up on her feet. she won't run to her, even if she kind of wants to, she'll just be ready with open arms for the hug she so desperately needs right now, despite the brave face ]
