[ he can see it in archie's face that something is wrong. sure, the story he tells could be enough to make even him display emotion, because it's certainly something that would have them all freaking out. however, he gets the sense that there's something more and he's wondering if he should prompt archie to continue. it's the whole stance that archie takes that tips him off, reminding jughead of the way he'd been the day he'd confronted archie about their cancelled roadtrip. it's something that would affect him, he's sure. and doesn't know how to address it.
